MHS Seals stock high quality glide and self lubricating bushings in a wide variety of materials and in imperial and metric sizes.

Self Lubricating (BU) bushings – SF1 Material

For optimum performance the product can be operated dry without lubricant, or with only a trace of oil or grease. The PTFE/Pb wear surface, 0.01-0.03mm, provides an initial transfer film, which effectively coats the mating surface on the bearing assembly, forming an oxide type solid lubricant film. The sintered bronze interlay, 0.20-0.35mm, provides maximum thermal conductivity away from the bearing surface, also serving as a reservoir for PTFE-lead wear surface. Low-carbon steel backing gives exceptionally high load carrying capacity, excellent heat dissipation. Copper/Tin plating 0.002mm, provides good corrosion resistance.

Glide (BX) bushings – SF2 material

Glide bushings exhibit excellent performance properties:

  • Good load capacity and wear resistance
  • Suitable for linear, oscillating, and rotating movements
  • Performs best with high loads and low speeds.

Material: copper plated steel backing, sintered porous bronze, polyoxymethylene (POM)

BX bushings can operate for a very long period of time with only a trace amount of lubricant applied during installation.
